Day one:
Sombor – history , architecture and culture
Start your unforgettable visit to Sombor by familiarizing with the history of this area at the Sombor City museum, the Museum of Danube Swabians and by visiting the Gallery of the most famous Sombor painter Milan Konjović. Take a carriage ride across our Ravangrad and enjoy the treetops of a hundred year old Celtis trees.
Take a walk across the Holy Trinity Square, the Saint George Square and Art Square and enjoy the view of the remarkable edifices that encircle them. On your way towards the City Administration building - Županija, you will pass the City Hall, the house where Laza Kostić lived, Srpska čitaonica, the City library… Visit Županija that is a home to the famous painting of “the Battle of Senta” – the largest oil painting in our part of Europe. Enjoy the magic of the National theatre of Sombor.
Don’t miss out on enjoying yourself at the Canal, and, for a genuine gastronomical treat, visit the famous restaurants or chardas.
Day two:
Bački Monoštor - Bezdan - Kolut
After breakfast, we recommend a tour of Bački Monoštor. Visit the traditional houses “Mali Bodrog” and “Romska duša”, the Beekeeping classroom “Periškić”, as well as some of the artisans that nurture traditional crafts. Take a walk or ride a bicycle through the walking trails of Gornje Podunavlje Special Nature Reserve/UNESCO Biosphere Reserve “Bačko Podunavlje” /UNESCO Biosphere Reserve “Mura - Drava - Danube”, enjoy the boat or catamaran rides, visit Eco center Karapandža.
During the afternoon, visit the “Novitet Dunav” silk damask weaving mill in Bezdan, the Museum of perfume bottles “Pudar”, the Battle of Batina museum, traditional houses “Jelena” or “Bakin spomenar”, “Miki” ZOO in Kolut and “Šokačka kuća” in Bački Breg.
Spend the evening in one of the chardas along the Danube or the Great Bačka Canal, enjoying fish specialties, domestic wine and tamburitza players.
Day three:
Granges - Stapar - Telečka - Riđica
Start your day by visiting “Naš salaš” or “Dida Hornjakov salaš”, with an obligatory degustation of the traditional grange meals. Also, visit Sombor craftsmen that nurture traditional crafts.
Spend the afternoon in Stapar, getting to know the weaving process of the famous Stapar kilim while tasting Stapar pie, or in traditional houses “Evo” in Telečka and “Ružica” in Riđica.
Crown your hedonistic experience by tasting quality wine in Riđica and Sombor wineries or craft beer.
